Do You Remember? |

Do you remember when we use to walk along the path? you know the one..where the pink dogwoods and the snapdragons framed the babbling brook.. and the garden of monarda danced with the emerald feathered hummingbirds as they quenched their thirst in the morning sun.. Do you remember? Remember how we use to sit in the shade of the nook? and we would dream that the day would never end and the sky would always be a topaz blue, and at night we would dream in each others arms until the dawn would awaken us with the scent of ballerina crab apples. Do you remember how we would sit in the gazebo and get lost in the ethereal moonlight. You dont remember do you?...the way you said i would never get old..you said i was the prettiest girl you ever dated... Remember when you whispered " i love you" for the first time and I did not hear you because you whispered softly in my ear. Where did those days go? The love we once shared..was it just a preview of an up and coming movie?..or just a flashback of something to remember as we grow old...together? < !signature--> A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 10-24-2000).] |

Thanks, I enjoyed the read. A nice reminder not all of us feel as deeply. |

Wow, Victoria, I think that was very touching. Good question. I did a poem of the same name, much different, though. Seems to me they too easily forget. Sandra |

Victoria - My apologies if that came across wrong! I in no way meant that I didn't like it! What I meant by fence-sitting was that I see this more as a poem than a prose piece! If you intentionally put it in here (some people do accidentaly put their work in the wrong forum sometimes...) than si bueno! I did like it! Just making sure! Chris (ps - personally, I love the longer prose pieces! ) |

I greatly enjoyed reading this piece. It created some vivid images and it made me think how the things we remember and feel to be important may not be significant to those around us. At night a candle's brighter than the sun |
