Waking up every morning a 6 a.m. did not sound like fun. Even if I was beginning my junior year in high school. The first day of school i cut almost all my classes. Same with the next few days I missed your class. A class I never thought I would actually like. Well it turns out you didnt like the fact that I was doing that. My first day in your class was weird. I sensed you didnt like me. But I didnt let that bother me. I continued to go to your class because it became intresting to me. Eventually it bacame my favorite class. You taught me so much. Not just on the subject of Sociology but on life and the consequences that come with it. You became more then a teacher, but a really close friend. Someone I turned to when I needed help, someone to talk to, someone to be there for me. The year quickly ended. I started my senior year, being as close to you as I was the year before. Except with a lot of catching up to do because summer put a stop to our friendship. But we eventually caught up to each other with our stories and pictures to show. You took a piece of my heart. I finally found someone that I could look up to, to talk with and to care about me. Someone outside of a family. But then that final day came where we said our good~byes for good. It was so hard to give you a hug without crying. But I fought back the tears cause I didnt want to show you I was being weak. I never got the chance to tell you how special you were to me. How it was because of you that I was gonna graduate. How you helped me so much. That is just a bunch of stuff that you will never know. Graduation day came. You were the only person in the world that I wanted there. I knew how proud of me you would be. I scanned the crowd of teachers on the stage, but you werent up there. I scanned the crowds of happy parents around me. You werent there either. So I figured you were on the side of the stage watching us as we went up to get our diplomas. But you werent there either. As I walked across the stage I looked to the crowded figuring I would spot you. But I didnt. I realized that you werent there. I struck my heart. Tears filled my eyes. Not because school was over and it was a final good~bye to all the friendships we've made. But because you werent there. **This is dedicated to a teacher at my school Mrs. Ackerman. For making a difference in my life. ~IF YOU WANT SOMETHING VERY BADLY~SET IT FREE~IF IT COMES BACK TO YOU~ITS YOURS FOREVER~IF IT DOESNT IT WAS NEVER YOURS TO BEGIN WITH~ |

What a wonderful tribute! I think if all teachers could each feel like they helped at least one student, they would be happier. I am sure your teacher would appreciate this . ![]() Great writing, btw! Gossamerwings ;) |
