For me the purpose of poetry is a release of emotions. There are some feelings battling to get out, most are not understood by anyone but me. Others are clearly obvious. I try being grammatically correct, but sometimes the words flow and I get lost. Even though I do re-read what I have written, I still miss the mistakes.
I enjoy reading and writing poetry. I can release emotions and feelings easily in this way. I gain an understanding of someone's perspective. See the world through different eyes. And maybe, gain an understanding of myself too.
