I woke up this morning to a dark and dreary day. Although the sun was shining brightly, I saw no light. The birds were singing but I heard no sounds. My world ended last night amid the shouts of angry words. Now I sit in my loneliness, numb from the actions that I took. The feeling is so strange when you realize you are losing sight of your hopes, anticipations and your dreams. You feel your dreams slip away from you, and then you realize that maybe dreams are foolish to have in the first place. For a dream can be shattered with things as simple as a word, a glance, or an action, the emptiness engulfs you, and swallows you whole until you finally realize what a cruel and savage place the real world is. Depression is on the heels of a dream, and when the dream fades, the depression stays and lingers in the mind. I hold the pieces of my heart and desperately seek the answers. The hurt is unbearable and I am blinded by emotion but then to my surprise I find the piece of my heart where her memory resides and I know she will be with me forever more. Rich |

Ooo i love that writing, but never think dreams are foolish to have, because some are indestructible and reachable, as some are brittle and fragile like a prized piece of china, and some are resurrected , some merely reflected upon, bringing a rejuvination of spirit. you just have to guard it and nurture it. whats this life for otherwise? |

dear rich, i know it's hard, i've certainly had my share of shattered dreams and lacerated hopes. i dont know if you're a man of faith, but either way, i suggest you read some of the first chapters of the biblical book of Job. i think you might identify very closely with that character. good expression, keep up the moving work. sincerely, the beautiful freak |

Excellent writing showing a lot of heart. Hold onto your dreams and even the fragments, you never know if they'll become whole again. Abrahm Simons Put one foot on the path of life and tread the dagger's path betwixt dark and light. |
