Dear Linda, I went to my email to write you this letter and I couldn't get my email to work. So .. here we are right where me "met" on these comforting blue pages of PiP. I have met some wonderful people here and made connections that have impacted me deeply. You are one of those connections and - yes, you have impacted me deeply. Linda, you have made me laugh out loud as you shared humorous poetry and stories with us. I will always think of you as "Holler Girl" ~ and I sitll smile when I remember that poem that brought that nick name to me. I am in awe of your talent. First, I simply lost myself in your poetry - but, then you shared some watercolors and I was (and am) amazed at how talented you are. You are a mountain climber in my eyes. You shared so much of the beauty in your life with us. What a gift you have given. For sometime, I have been even more amazed at your courage as you face illness that would devastate many of us. You are not a quitter - and went on to publish a book of poetry while planning other ventures and adventures. Linda, you have become my sister and one of my mentors. Thank you for sharing the beauty and difficulties that are in your life. I hope to have the courage and grace under difficult times that you have. I have read your life in your poetry ~ we all have little corners that we don't readily share. However, your corners have so much light in them. I don't pretend to know all about you - but I do know that you are the most kind, thoughtful and generous woman I have met. You are a lady through and through. Well, what's going on here? It's cold again - or getting that way. The trees are getting that "fairy tale" look to them as they become covered with dustings of frost. The days are getting longer and we are seeing beautiful sunsets. I'll try to get a picture for you soon. I am slowly starting to write again ~ and may even venture back to the Poetry Workshop one day soon. I am saving the seat beside mine for you. I love you, Linda Lou. Hang in there and come back soon. You are missed here - deeply missed and loved. xoxoxo Alison |

My dear, dear Lasky Girl. I am moved beyond tears by your heart-felt eloquence and generosity of spirit. Words fail me. Just know that I have copied your letter and saved it to a very special folder on my computer. Alison, you are as lovely as the rising sun on a spring morning! With lots of love and appreciation for the special person that you are, Linda xo ... |
