the twilight hour

from the rooftop
the sun does dim
a watercoloured masterpiece
the warmth drains down
leaving the air cold
i ponder
witnessing such godly art
whether a leap from this edge
helped from such a great fall
would break any records
i throw gum over
abysmal dismay
head, not record, would be broken
i sigh
and i think of her once again
instinctive thought to a sigh
the last of my light fades
and my caffeine is running low
time to head home
another night for now
another sun tomorrow
another sigh to swallow

~steve

critiques are welcomed, although i have no intentions on changing anything.

i am finding the anti-depressant medication im on doing for my depression what a coffee filter does when set to the task of holding water.

Steve,
"and i think of her once again
instinctive thought to a sigh
the last of my light fades
and my caffeine is running low
time to head home
another night for now
another sun tomorrow
another sigh to swallow"

I really do like this.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
