One thing all cars have in common is the fact that one day they will be considered junk no matter beautiful they are today. I recently obtained such a vehicle. It's old, beat up and the motor was blown. By all accounts and purposes the car was junk. For some reason I took a liking to the car and decided that all it needed was a little love and attention and so I began the painstaking task of rebuilding it from its precious frame up. I began by replacing the motor, then the shocks, struts, brakes, exhaust, interior and sound system. You name it; I either replaced it, repaired it or repainted it. By the time I was done it was a brand new car. Not even a shadow of its previous life existed. It was worth the extreme cost to see it return to glory. That's what I've done for my car. Much like the automobile, the human begins its life the most beautiful thing its parents have ever seen only to become expensive, time consuming and increasingly challenging with time. Most parents try to fix them as needed but many just ignore the problem hoping it'll just fix itself. Unfortunately there are a few parents that simply "junk" their kids when it seems to a hopeless endeavor to get them "running" right. This is where God comes in to show the world what can be done with "junk". He spends His time convincing this person that they are NOT junk and that they need only a little love and attention. Once His offer of salvation is accepted He begins the painstaking task of rebuilding the precious soul, from the heart up. The first thing He does is replace the heart, then the mindset, the will, the ego, the appearance; you name it He works it over. And when He is done the person is a new creation, not even a shadow of the old person is left. It was worth the extreme cost to see it return to glory. That is what He has done for me. He would do it for anyone M. Wilson aka Lyn Eagleton 01/10/2006 |
