Her closely wrapped black hair played tricks on my eyes as it shone with the luminance of the pool light. Brown eyes reflected a sly knowledge as her nymph-like body moved amid the awning. She folded towels into magnificent draperies as her innate creativity took over beneath the thick thunderheads. I splashed around my watery playground as a motley group and I played with fate. No one else attended her stealthy movements, yet I managed to catch a glimpse of her late night endeavor. Bare feet padded across a wet concrete deck as she stole shoes and towels from their haphazard placements. Another thunderclap racked the sky and a worried look escaped her slightly rouged face as she looked from the pool to the sky and back to us, swimming contentedly in the rain. As we paid no heed to the electrical anomalies, neither did she, hurrying back to decorating her new outdoor atrium while the sky continued to darken. Shoes and sandals became hanging pots of flowers and her mischievous smile still played across thin lips. Running small fingers through her short-cut hair, she sprayed a shower of rainwater from the curled locks. A beautifully toned request overcame our splashing when yet another bolt of lightning split the night sky. Trepidation overtook her joyful daubing, and her insistent tumult was enough to bring us to our senses. While we raced from the warm pool waters to the slightly drier patio in frantic search for our towels, her mirthful laughter added to her nymph-like appearance as our eyes fell upon her brocade. And as we struggled to loosen the knots of the ramulous trapping, her bantam bare feet pattered once more across the drenched deck and through the sliding glass door, escaping the night’s tumultuous storm. ------------------ Even with a lot of imagination, does it make the story less true? |

Hey, M.I., good to see you hangin' around. This piece is awesome...you paint the images in mind extremely well. Sounds like you had quite the muse for this one. Excellent work. ------------------ Michael Anderson The coldest lies are often told in silence. |
