Desperation brought me back here. I need closure, to write the final chapter of this fairytale. I thought, perhaps, if I visited your grave once more, it would ease the reality of your early departure. I was wrong. Was it ever real to you, this love?" I cry into the silence. "Did you ever once truly love me?" My words return unanswered as they always have done. A breeze calms through, toying with my hair and for moment, I could have sworn I heard your laughter. The willow still mourns you- ever vigilant over your place of rest. It was here I'd spilled your blood. Here upon this ground where I'd decided to quiet the one who tortured me with beauty. squeezed tight eyes still dream about yesterday and the pain merely forces open the truth that freedom from you could only mean the death of me. I'll wait here until they come to collect me. My hands still bear stain of my crime for I feared washing them would erase all. All I ever known about you. All I've ever dreamed of you. All I've ever hoped concerning you. I was so sure that this was the only way, weren't you? To kill what eats at my core, gaining strength instead of waning at the end of day. I wretch each time I remember your quiet acquiescence stirred ever so slightly with sardonic twist of your perfect mouth. I hate you! I love you! I wish you had fought me, given me a reason for pause. But it happened so quickly and the taste of your blood lingers on my lips. Your last breath hangs chill upon my days. You knew. You had to know; the way you staggered to me with that mocking gleam in eye and deep chuckle possessing more pain than amusement- that brief moment of something glimmering close to heart's desire before the blink, then blank. My questions died there while the weight of you overwhelmed me. We slow motion fell beneath old willow who hustled her grassy children to break the fall. Your body labored a moment before giving up in a long thirsty kiss as a memorial to never. How I loathe you with tears and wailing prone upon this place you once thrived. They say the murderer always returns to the scene of the crime. I stand in mockery of self to be setenced for life in uncertainty... ~tier |

It's all metaphor about unrequited love which seems to be my favorite topic to write about. The reasons why is another story. *chuckles* ~tier ![]() |

Dearest Sunshine, I'd like to "story along" as you put it, but if I did, it would reveal far more than I'm willing to share. This was my poetic purge of something I intend to finally lay to rest. *Hugs to you* ~tier ![]() |

Well written story that kept me wondering the reason for the purge-atory, but then again, good stories do involve us, leaving us to wonder, don't they? Enjoyed. miscellanea |

Enjoyed the read. I agree...left open for a bigger story here as it appears to be a snapshot from a larger piece. Probably wouldn't be hard to make it complete in itself though if thats what you wanted. Either way...enjoyed. jwesley |

Misc and J, I appreciate your comments. It is possible for the story to be expanded upon but it would take much from me to do so. I like the idea of it being a "snapshot" J. It's a fairly accurate description. My only regret is that the story seems to be unfinished or leaves the reader either unsatisfied or wanting more. Though wanting more may not be a bad thing... Thanks again! ~tier ![]() |

Interesting... I know I'll be nosing around in here more just to see if more of this pops up. Now you've got my curiousity aroused.. BWA Your time is here. Take one last look at it, then never come back. This part of your life is already over... |
