A bleak decay of dignity from the outside While the glass of life sits shattered deep inside Tearing the flesh from within He be the spectator of social sin His filth now a tattooed engravement As the corroded cup sits on the pavement Blindly gazing into passing shadows But never to intrude on congested windows He be begging for someone to turn on the light While clinging to the illusion of his liberal right A well played beauty charade from the outside While a self-righteous persona sits trapped deep inside Wealth tearing out consciousness from within She be a pawn of social sin Her existence now a hollow engravement As she passes the corroded cup on the pavement A smouldering soul amongst a mass of shadows Envisioning her reflection upon imperial windows She be begging for someone to turn out the light While clinging to the illusion of her eminent right |
