God is dead. Nietzche proclimed for the removal of our boundaries, for the trascendence of the shackles that bind our mind and will. I´ve thought long about this three words. What does it mean to deny divinity?, how could God create a being that then denies his own creator, in a way denies himself. it would seem God is suicidal..... But then again i wont think about Nietzche for he was dening a religious tradition more than a Deity as itself. I personally have the certianity that God is. but my words would be but simple dead leaves that cannot move by themselves. I need an exterior force, the wind of love perhaps? There are very few stars i can gaze upon from this mounstrous city that devours almost all beatuy. to SEE is to beleive i once thought. i know stars exist, not because ive seen them before or because ive been told so, but because i long for them so We long for unity For a return to our origin (wich we perceive by intuition to be the origin of ALL things) For the divine center (God?) What we long for, for so long, throught all ages cannot be a lie. (my humble opinion) Greetings from the 13th heaven Ixtab - |

As I was reminded by a recent conversation with a friend, according to the precepts of exostentialism, you are 100% correct, because nothing exist outside of who we are. Everything exists in our own minds, therefore it stands to reason, that if you will it, it will be. My two cents. ![]() |

I have my own belief. It is that I will not deny the existance of something, be it magic, fate, or a God of any nature, until it is proven to me without a doubt that it does not exist. However, just as I cannot respect someone that has not respected me or done anything to earn my respect, I cannot blindly believe in something. That is why I do not believe or disbelieve in God. But I do have one thing for everyone to think about, something my boyfriend showed me in a book about Zen. It was a passage about a monk asking a practicer of Zen if the Zen religion believed God would at some time save humanity, to which th Zen practicer replied "In the Zen religion, we believe God has already done enough." It is something to think about. After all, if God created us, and this world, looking at the decay of morals, and looking at how we humans have destroyed his creation, Earth, why would he want to save any of us? I feel we can give another sense to the Zen frase you mention. If God has already done enough, then it is our own task to seek him. For we where endowed with free will (to some extent at least), which could mean that regardless of moral practice or religious afiliation, the path to God exists within our mind. How to unlock that path is a matter of will. |

Welcome to Passions in Prose! ![]() I am not inclined to a religious discussion tonight but I will be more than happy to do so at a later date. Christopher, thank you for remembering our conversation. I need do no more than echo it as a discussion of religion would quickly spill into the Alley. ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |

Agreeing with Dream on the need to avoid yet another religious discussion, I want only to say SD, that there is a term for your particular belief, and one I share in common with you. I am agnostic meaning i don't believe there is, and I don't believe there isn't, unless proven otherwise. [This message has been edited by Christopher (edited 09-22-1999).] |
