All at the Same Time
By Larry Chadwick
For my wife

There are those that can chew gum and walk at the same time. And some can even talk, chew gum and walk at the same time. Others can rub their tummy in a circle while patting the top of their head and carry on a conversation all at once. I am pretty good at the first. As for the second I don’t stand a chance. But I can still multitask fairly well.

It does not matter whether I am at work or off the clock. I can attend a meeting of any kind and contribute while keeping notes. I can watch the news and cook supper all at once. I can take a phone call and check my email at the same time. I can wash the car and engage in conversation together. At church I can engage in dialogue while looking up a scriptural reference concurrently. I can even shower and listen to the radio simultaneously.

None of this, I am sure, is enough to impress you. But this probably will. While doing all of those things you never ever leave my mind. I think about you constantly and I always will.

Larry - what a surprise this is  . . .

I laughed and then thought . . .
"My God, how beautiful."

No matter what the differences
No matter what the cost
When words become our weapons ...
All that's beautiful is lost.

Y'know...I recently used this very scenario in explaining why the radio can be on, I can be listening, typing an e-mail with one hand and answering the phone with the other...

and the guy said, "can't be done."

Next time he says that?  I'll just show him this!

JM,
Aww... You do know how to melt my heart. And thank you always.

Karilea,
And my wife wants a copy in her purse. To think she used to pay no attention to my writing! LOL And thank you.

Helen,
I had no doubt you would recognize it.

It pays to keep busy, while keeping close the ones we love,  and those people in our life who matter most.

Larry...you have a wonderful mind and heart so full.
