Passions in Prose is a new venture for us, dedicated to the writing of fiction and nonfiction essays. Like everything in life, there are going to have to be rules. And like everything at Passions, those are pretty simple and always open to discussion.
That's it, guys. Shouldn't be too tough, I hope. I'm really excited about this new addition to the forum and hope we get some great participation. I'd love to see this carry over to the main site (disk space and bandwidth allowing). |

Anyone care to share a round of applause for Ron? These rules will be reposted by me periodically, just until we all get the feel for this. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

RE: Cut, Copy, Paste for Mac Yes, Ron, these functions are exactly the same for Mac in virtually every application. The only difference is that our "command" key (the one with the squiggly mark and the apple on it) works like your "control" key. The Mac also has a "control" key in addition, so the keyboard has one more key. For the Mac, "Command A"= Select All "Command X" = Cut, "Command C"= Copy, and "Command V" = Paste. For both Mac and PC users, you don't even have to move your left hand very much to do your select all, copy, and paste. And, btw, "Command Z"= Undo in most applications for both Mac and PC, and that's right there, too, at your fingertips of your left hand, without moving it much. I always strongly recommend "copy & paste" rather than "cut & paste" because you can inadvertently cut and lose your text from the original document if you accidently push save (Command S). Final note, you can virtually always, in every application, find these functions in your file menu, in case you forget these keyboard shortcuts. So much for computer lessons... thanks for this forum, Ron. Hopefully it will inspire me to dig out many incomplete essays and short stories and finish 'em up! ![]() |

Regarding the Adult Forum: Let's not get carried away, it's not a "Letters to Penthouse" type of place. ![]() |

Bumping these up again...Chris...please note Rule # 2. I am not sure if this has changed with the new software but until you are sure we should abide by these. ![]() |

That sounds good to me, but now what about the war and piece idea that I was coming up with? J/K! I do have a question though, what about the diary entery piece that I just did? The misspelled words were meant to be there. It was also a true story and I think that it might have been a little past the word limitation. Are these things that we should take up with the Moderators? Should they check and see if our pieces are too long or too vulgar before we post them? Confused, Lady Live in my world just once and you'll find yourself enraptured. |
