If one has written a poem that is of an especially philosphical nature may she/he post it in the philosophy forum?

I doubt you'd get much response there.  You might even find that the moderators would move it to a poetry forum, as Philosophy is more of a discussion forum.  If you were to include the poem into a philosophical overview, however... I'd see no problem...
