~This has nothing to do with poetry, but I'm not finding answers elsewhere so I figured I'd give it a shot. I was assigned to bring soda,tonic,pop, whatever you might call it, to a shower. Thing is, there are 90 people invited, the friend throwing it tells me she only expects 60 people to show up. (this is no help). Anyway, I was instructed NOT to buy cans, which I think would be easier but anyway, anyone have ANY idea how many 2 liter bottles one would purchase for 60-90 people at a 4 hour event??? If it's to be mixed with other beverages, I would say, about 20. |

~I'm assuming there will be coffee, probably juices?, unsure of alcohol as it's relatively early (though you never know, will have to find out today) so,...sigh, I don't know. Thanks Karilea for your input dear.  . |

30 if there is only coffee/tea around... 20 if there is (orange) juice with coffee/tea etc... 12-15 if there is light alocholic beverages like beer + juice + coke/pepsi + coffee etc... 20 if there is strong liquor... well... it is a guess anyway... it depends upon many things 1. what's the weather like there... sunny, warm, extremely hot... etc... 2. percentage of women in the group... more women == more water, more men == more beer ... that's a generalisation, but an effective one... 3. can it go longer than 4 hours... so is it going to be amusing or is it going to be boring... anyway, if there is some left over, you can always take it back... and finally, are there sufficient toilets... else make sure you have less than needed  anyway... thanks for letting me babble... regards, sudhir |

~I like how you've broken it down. That's quite helpful thank you! There will undoubtedly be more women than men, plenty of restrooms, warm weather(though I'm sure it's air conditioned inside), and I'm assuming they only have the place for the set amount of time, so probably no longer than the four hours. 40 people at a recent wedding went through three punchbowls of beverage in less than an hour....there were six liters to blend with the punch mix. We should have added 1/3 again water to the mix to make it last... and that was in an AC room but with 104 degrees outside... |
