Are we aloud to quote someone in our poems (of course by giving credit, and it would only be around 1 line)  Like how poets will give a quote by someone, then write the poem?  Because I have a poem like that, and i was wondering because of the guidelines, but in people's signatures they have quotes (including mine). Anyways I was wondering, thanks for your time.

Hi Scout...

Thanks for asking this question - It's a very important one to us here at Passions...

You certainly can quote another author as long as you use just a short excerpt (as you have described) and give them credit for writing those words...

Posting major portions or complete works of another is not within acceptable guidelines for this site, however...

What you have in mind sounds fine...
