Recently I've developed an interest in the longer poems, seems more like work, more satisfying somehow. Anyway, I've been approached about writing an Epic. I have no idea where to begin (creation myth?). If there is a standard structure, I'd like to know. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance. ------------------ Being paranoid is the biggest reason I'm still around to practice my paranoia. DreamEvil© |

My advice would be to look to Homer. On a scaled back basis, of course. I have a feeling you will do well. My only concern is your rather "dark" side [hey, we all have sides] and the subsequent feelings you would pass on to younger readers. But those are just my thoughts, and I am sure everyone will be looking forward to your efforts. Take care. ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Sunshine, the Dark is more comforting than the Light. Think of the womb, not the tomb. Thanks for the advice, though. |

DE: humm, well, this could become a debate. How do things grow in your garden of dark? And I know I've done far more stretching outside the womb than in. Ahh, the mixing of worlds and philosophies...more to succeed for all of us. |
