Is it OK to post & share links to music and poetry or essays or stories?  If so, which forum would be best for this? Thanks for letting me know.

For you, Doreen? If memory serves me well, the best forum to share links might be Grok This.

Remember Scott/DE? He posted a link because he knew his Halloween story would never fall within our Guidelines? He discovered, of course, that the destination of a link posted here must meet the same criteria as content posted here. Please, Doreen, keep that in mind as you decide what to share.

It's a long story. And hey Dor I'm still checking out the stairs.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Hi Ron!

Thanks for your answer. No, my intent is not to post a link to anything here which would be contrary to your guidelines. Why would I want to do that? That would defeat the entire purpose of posting a link if the link were removed, right? I'm certainly not one for breaking rules! Nope! Not me!

No, I don't remember Scott/DE at piptalk but I know someone who posts by that same name (or similar... he uses a lower case de at Arcanum Cafe. Maybe it's the same person.

I didn't know you had a forum called "Grok This." Hmm... Cool name! Very clever! I'll look for it. I haven't been here in 5 years. It must have been created after my time.

Let me give you an example of what I'd like to post. I do spoken word poetry and I play piano. I'd like to post links to some of my audio files, for example. Most are originals but some are covers. Would that be OK?

Oh... I just looked at the list of discussion forums and I didn't see "Grok This." Where is it? Gotta link?

Good to see you again, btw. Looks like this community has grown by leaps and bounds!

Hi Nan! -
How ARE ya? Great to see you! I'd post a smiley huggy icon for ya but I can't remember where they are. Gotta find 'em first. I do know how to make a couple. I can make a a winky and I can make a smiley and I can make a frowny, but that's about it  and I just got an error message because I was including those in this post, rather than spelling out the words for them and there were more than five of them. Oh well. Yer just gonna have to trust me on it. *winky*

Essorant -
Nice to meet you!  *smilie*

Hi Larry!
Long time, my friend. Stairway to heaven? Love that tune! *winkyface*

Howdy DP, and it has been awhile.  Grok This can be found in Mature Content, formerly known only as Adult.

Heyyyyy.... Ali, you cool cat you! Great to see you!  It's been a lonnnngggg time!

Mature Content? Can I post there, I wonder?

I'm an unregistered user and no new memberships are being accepted (it said so when I clicked the "want to register?" link at the top.)

(plus the links I want to post are probably immature, at best. lol)

Well, any Admin could fix that, so you can wait, or you can send along a request to them to expedite the process.

Hey Dor, good to see you. I have't been around here for a couple of years myself (working on an MBA....left no time for a life of my own!!!), but I for one would love to read your poetry again. Can't you find your old login and use that? If you've forgotten your password, I"m sure the mod's could help you with that

Hi Tracey! Long time no see! Good to see you! Did you get that MBA? That's great that you've been working on that! Wonderful!

Hi Sharon! Hugs to ya right back

Ali-
Well, I'm pretty sure I'm unregistered because that's what I'm supposed to be. Or something. I'm not going to ask anybody to help me get registered or anything. Ron was kind to direct me to the Announcements forum where unregistered users can reply so I could let Karen know I was concerned about her safety and happy she and her family was safe. I very much appreciated that! When I was here before, there weren't any forums for unregistered users and now that there are, I was just wondering if I could post a couple of links from time to time. Maybe to my music or spoken poetry artwork or the website I'm developing. Stuff like that. I don't know if "Grok This" is for unregistered users or not. Probably not. Though Ron did suggest that forum, but now that you tell me it's in the mature content forum, Ron was probably just remembering that I sometimes write that kinda stuff. I don't really write that kinda stuff any more, though. I hardly write anything at all, lately anyway, unfortunately. I do see that the Announcements forum is called "Announcements & Links" and I know that one accepts unregistered users so maybe I'll post a link over there some time.

I just recorded a version of "Cripple Creek" and I recently recorded Gershwin's "Summertime." Is it OK to post links to covers like that? Ron? Anybody?

One thing I definitely do NOT want to do is to break ANY rules!

Nice to see you guys!

Um... If Ron directed you - and it adheres to guidelines - I'd say it's OK.. OK?..

Hi Nan. Thanks!

Are links to covers of tunes acceptable within the guidelines?
