LOL you haven't met General Alert yet? j/k It's for the moderators of each forum to be able to send out one email to all the moderators of that particular forum.  (kind of like mass mailing, in one shot) |

It's actually General Alfred Lert. Of the Hampton Lerts. Their ancesters came to America on the Mayflower. It's a well known story that the matriach of the family had the name changed due to a dalliance with the captain. She changed the name from Lirt to Lert when the captain's wife threatened to find her and all her relatives and 'dispose of them'. Miss Lirt had to hide in the cargo hold of the ship to escape the eagle eye of the captain's wife. Thus it was that when she arrived in America, she was gaunt and wan looking. Her relatives in New Jersey met her and commented that she was no longer a big F.Lirt! There, that's your history lesson for today! |
