I am just starting off as a poet and want to expand my poetic horizons. I don't know all that much about the different types other than the basics (freeverse, rhyming haiku, ect.) If anyone can offer any help with different forms, rhyming or just what I can do to improve my poetry it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

I'd be happy to help, Angel - The basics are actually pretty darned extensive, though - It's probably best to start with a specific poem and work from there - I'll be sure to comment more explicitly on your work, and feel free to ask me specifics.... ------------------ Nay, if our wits run the Wild-Goose chase, I am done: For thou hast more of the Wild-Goose in one of thy wits, Than I am sure I have in my whole five. ~ ²1592 Wm. Shakespeare ~ Romeo & Juliet ~ ii. iv. 75 |

Rest assured and have faith that I will try to help. I like to do more than commenting ... I like to torture! (no, really, I don't torture. I give fresh views and comments on how to improve. I can keep an eye out for some of your poems, and show you which lines I like best, and what I think can be done to change this and that, and how I felt about it overall, plain and honest). So rest assured, either Nan or I will keep an eye out for your poetry. |
