Is this the world's shortest poem? "Fleas" Adam Hadem ----- I remember being told as a child, that this was the world's shortest poem. If so, I think I may have just come up with a record breaker. ~Gene |

Thanks, but I don't understand. Why would that be the shortest? Why not for that matter, just "I" ? I was told that because "Adam hadem" rhymed and it was in relation to the the title, it made sense as a poem. But "It" has no relation to anything. It's just a word. In other words it has to have some kind of logic behind it, doesn't it. So, by the same reasoning "I" could be the shortest. I'm sorry but "It" makes no sense to me at all. Anyway, if "It" is a poem, who's the author? ~Gene |

I wrote ‘It’, the poem goes like this For four Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool: But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet. |

Hey! This just gave me an idea!! Why don't we all try to write a 'short poem'!! I'd love to see what everyone comes up with!! Of course, it won't be the shortest, but that's okay!! Denise [This message has been edited by dsnyder (edited 02-03-2000).] |

Hey, Everyone, These are all great. But, If you'd all go to the link I provided above, you'll see some more cute short ones. Maybe we could keep adding things as we think them up. Check it out. It would be interesting to see what we can come up with. It's almost easier to write a long poem. ------ Ooops! looks like Denise beat me to the punch. ~Gene [This message has been edited by u_gene (edited 02-03-2000).] |

You deconstructionists are all alike. Everyone knows that if it lacks meter and rhyme it isn't REALLY a poem! *Jim ducks and dodges the rotten fruit* |
