I'm searching for the author of this poem:

"I am the ghost of John James Benjamin Bims.
I was cut down right in the midst of my sins.
My home is down below,
But now I am out for an hour or so.
When the cock begins to crow,
Farewell to Ben Bims."

My grandad really wants to know who wrote this, so if you have any ideas please let me know. Apparently Ben Bims wan an official hangman of England, but that's all I know. Thanks!

There is a Benjamin Bartholomew Bimms who was an official hangman in England 1883-1884. Perhaps, this is the Bimms you seek, though I never found those words listed anywhere.
good luck!
