I need help on analyzing this poem, its for a test, and well i dont know too much about poetry, i pretty much only need a line-for-line interpretation. The fiction of relationships: It is cold. In this weather Things break. The road signs are painted black. In the root cellar, The potatoes are Growing their skins Thicker, white roots sprouting hopelessly Into darkness, into Rootlessness. As I do, As you do. I had a brother once, In one other time. Who was he Whose skin was less The outer layer, And who, even In the surest weather, Wore his clothes long And deep Lest others see The curious quick welts Left from even The most casual touch? |

ok.. well.. I love poetry.. and I love to analyze.. but this just didn't seem to read into me.. I had to analyze a sonnet earlier this week and usually I'm good at this kind of stuff but I think I'll have to read into this one a bit more.. Good luck.. ~Heather Desire nothing except desirelessness. Hope for nothing except to rise above all hopes. |
