Hey Everyone...I have this big problem with my computer.  Whenever I go online, this message pops up.  It says:

"This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiatied by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM"

Then it has a counter thing and counts down to zero.  Below it, it says:

"The System Process "C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe" terminated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819.  The system will now shut down and restart."

I know that this is some sort of virus, but when I run my virus scanner, it doesn't pick it up or whatever.  I went to the microsoft website and saw that they had some sort of patch there.  I downloaded the patch, but when I double click it, it says:

"C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\WindowsXP-KB835732-x86-ENU.EXE is not a valid Win32 application"

I have NO idea what to do...if anyone has any ideas PLEASE let me know.  My e-mail is alg20@juno.com.

Thanks again!

~Alli~

Alli,
I have not ever seen that. Although I will call my Dad and ask him if he knows. He owns a computer business and he knows all the latest about things like that. I will post my findings asap.

Run virus scan from  trendmicro. Norton isn't picking this up. Then try updating your computers operating system. This should get rid of it. If not post again and I will call my Dad again.

I hope you tried the scan from Trendmicro's site. It works.
