Furtive glances that never happened Discreet smiles I deny exist Admiration forsaken and shoved aside Like that annoying neighbor who talks too much My heart does not beat for him My breath does not speak his name My feet do not follow him My hands do not clasp for him My strength speaks to silence my wishful thinking A brush with Fate, brushed off Brushed away. Hush my heart and brush up on your lying You must stay in this body, and Leave aside happiness For stalwart defiance. |

Wendy, I may have interpreted this wrong, but it seems to me that you are the desired and the subject is the rejected. Kudos! That's a twist. You certainly know how to get on the good side(s) of people who dislike cliche. Bravo. J.L.H.< !signature--> P.S. Welcome to forums. Welcome to Passions, Wendy. And congrats on a fine piece of work. I think Jason has it back to front, and it is you denying your feelings for someone you secretly admire. Go on, girl, go for it! It's never too late to have a happy childhood ... |

Thanks to the both of you. I can tell you that both interpretations can be validated... as I've been on both sides. However, when it was written, it was intended to be about the speaker admiring someone unreachable, but I thank you for pointing out another view. (I love it when people do that!) *grin* -wen |

Great writing! I had to re-read, because I also thought you were speaking of someones love the speaker rejected, but it all makes sense now.Very touching piece. Welcome to Passions. Hawk |
