Like a Storm - 2/24/99 Like a storm love moves in Rapid change the rain begins Bright blue skies turn to gray Lasts for days after day Fights begin thunder arrives Lightning strikes the clouds roll by The rain is hard and turns to hail Time to decide when to bail Thunder’s crack like canon’s fire Accused of being the true liar Time to flee and run to cover Must stay true to one another Lover’s quarrel like storm may break Mine was pure yours was fake Blue skies to gray good times to bad Thinking about the times we had Before the spring storm rolled in Love’s like a storm that must begin |

Thank you everyone for the enthusiatic comments about my poem. Not only is this the first poem I posted in the forum, but it is the first poem I have ever written. I wrote it back in February of 1999 and have been writing ever since...I now have my own archive of 50 poems so far...thank you all again... 'I once picked a daisy's petals searching for an answer. I went through 10 daisy's before getting the answer I was looking for...I love you.' |

Holden, I liked this...good metaphoric content, and a nice, smooth flow. You have quite a few poems already written, right? I'd like to hear more. warmhrt |
