Who Are They? |

I wrote this poem after almost 17 years of dealing with doctors, chiropractors, surgeons, psychologists, who all wanted to poke me and prod me and look inside my head. I've had several surgeries and have severe arthritis throughout my entire spine and both knees. Not to get into that, but now you may understand my view point somewhat better. They say, "Hey, listen to me. I've got the answers, can't you see?" "I'm a doctor. It says so on my door." "I create miracles, and a whole lot more." "And I'm always right. I'm not ever wrong." "You can't have pain, Cause you look too strong." "And I know it all. A lot more than you." "And when you say it hurts, It just can't be true." Well, who are they, To tell me what I feel? Who are they, To say what's false or real? Who are they? Well, I'll tell you who. They're not me. They're only you. |

Lee, I question the ending to this one: "They're not me. They're only you." Hey, they're not me, definately. If I were a doctor, I wouldn't have time to critique poetry. |
