A Wintry Tune 'Twas the night before the dawn When sweet darkness covered me, Quiet filled the star lit sky And everywhere I see, Golden lights aglow From houses warmed by fire And children dancing to and fro All dressed in sleep attire. Then smoke from chimneys swirl As the cold night air chills, I watch the smoke just twirl and twirl Across the snowy hills, Then music fills the air From chapel down the road As people dressed in muffs and furs In horse drawn carriage rode. The crystalline iced snow Sparkles under the reflecting moon, And every crunchy step you take Forms a wintry tune My soul is filled with joy Yet with a heavy heart My story's coming to an end Soon winter must depart And once again the summer days Will slowly melt my heart. strbbux [This message has been edited by strbbux (12-21-2001 09:49 PM).] |

I like this. It has the same feel for me as Twas The Night Before Christmas or A Visit From St. Nick, whatever it's called. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! |
