Music! Thank you Kenny Koch for making my days. I’d like to thank the academy of awards, Oscar, or Meyer -- whoever. All the hot dogs that made this possible. All those who by gallant example showed me how not to write. I’d like to thank early man for developing verbal communication and passing down his genes to me. I’d like to thank modern man for curly cueing symbols that stood for sounds. I’d like to thank Ed Poe, Bob Frost, Shakespeare, Guttenberg, inks inventor, all the trees that gave their all. I know I’m going to leave somebody out. The big people like Kenny Koch who allow little people like me to stand on their shoulders. They’re rocket scientists for spacey astronauts. I’d like to thank the readers most of all. Where would writers be without readers? Thank you all so much. You’re all so wonderful. Thank you! Thank you again! Now I really must go home and actually write something. |

is this a poem? it kind of reads like a speech to me. anyway, there must have been some poetic inspiration for you to thank the trees. it was a good read, whether poetry or speech. thanks for sharing. dancing freely with the stars, |
