The clouds do draw a veil across- The moon’s poor, timeworn face. The sun has fled to seek asylum Somewhere out in space. The wind does croon a lonely dirge I hear it sigh and moan- As if it’s hearts in tune with mine, So sad and all alone. The sky’s a somber shade and hue The stars no twinkle give... As if they, too, are missing you- Have lost the will to live. Ah, dark and melancholy mood- Why dost thou haunt me so? To grieve and mourn no comforts bring As I too well should know. Amnesia? What a blissful draught- But not for me I fear... When memories, on me do call They always find me here. If you should hap to think on me I may as well confess.... I right here where I’ve always been That same old, sad address. |

Wonderful rhyme and meter Gunslinger, and a feeling I understand as well. I often wish my memory address could change for just a moment of relief. I really enjoyed this piece. Best wishes and hugs, Kit |
