Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Pretty words
aren’t always true.
True words
aren’t always pretty.
What’s a mind to do?
What a pity.
What to believe,
what to do…
Taking leave
of my senses,
to try the other shoe.
Trying to understand why
I think
different than you.
Drawing a concensus
with thoughts to chew.
Some things are
black and white,
others are gray,
Then there are those
that go either way.
Which is right,
it’s hard to say.
Harder still
to determine
if it's wise
to compromise
on conviction.
Dreams aren’t always
fiction.
Listen with your heart to
find direction.
Heed its detection
of that we call True.
Be kind in all you do.
Fear, anger and hate
will always only serve
to cloud your view.
