Of Love and Grief

It cost me . . .
today did –
all I wanted to be
was dead,
but dead didn't want to play . . .
not with me,
today,
not with me.

It had already chosen

you.

I can't breathe –
I . . . can't . . . breathe.

My soul has collapsed.
Life resides in this shell,
this husk of me.

All I wanted to be today,
is dead,
in place of you,

But God didn't see it . . .

my way.

James...I know what you mean my friend. When my daughter was alive she told me many many times she just wanted to die and be free of the pain and what was causing it. Take care my friend...Paul
