Nightly Progression Pearl grip moon, I'll take another one of you tonight in the chalk line shape of my dreaming I'll fall in love without a fight Broadway girl take your heart off the radiator won't you come out to play no way? then I'll see you later alligator meet me at the chime of midnight pale I've got a few hopes up for sale Diamond star, scatter across my dashboard tonight down dirty alleyways of my scheming I'll drown in lust out of sight SoHo girl your smile cuts into me warm and sweet won't you be my Lady Day it's okay we'll beat the black summer heat darling one c'mon follow me down we'll move in rhythm to this one note town The dark welcomes you with a bitterness to swallow the heartbeat becomes hollow ricocheting through the city's deepest hue if you want to thrive learn how to survive feed each soul obsession in this nightly progression The dark envelopes you with its sweet cloak of blackness the heart it beats relentless pirouetting through the city faded blue if you want to love learn to rise above the flaw in each impression of this nightly progression Pearl grip moon, I'll take another one of you tonight in the chalk line shape of my dreaming I'll fall in love without a fight live and die and live again beneath this street light let’s open up and let each other in and pull apart all wrong and right and whatever the day has coming around the bend we will take each cut in succession the dark will find us confessing love like an abstract expression this is our nightly progression “Life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going.”-Tennessee Williams |
