I find myself drawn to our cozy love nook Nestled so quaintly beside the quiet brook As the sweet scent of flowers permeate the air I recall the time you placed one in my hair I watch the water lilies dancing about Amongst the tiny bubbles from friendly trout I think of how we used to dangle bare feet Cooling our heels and more from the searing heat A soft breeze blows gently caressing my skin As a melancholy ache stirs from within Long gone memories that deeply hurt so good Of a perfect love lost yet not understood I gaze into the water and look for me But just a mere illusion is all I see A somber blank expression now dons this face Riddled with thoughts of another time and place I find myself drawn to our cozy love nook Nestled so quaintly beside the quiet brook The sad sound of silence now permeates the air As I sit with my memories in despair © Poet In Pink |
