Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2018-02-06 08:26 PM

I’m alone this evening
for a change.
The TV is off
and the candle
I got for my birthday
is burning.
It is still early,
its light out yet.
The sky is gray,
it snowed some today.
The cat is curled up
on the back of the couch
because  the Chromebook
has my lap.
And the dog
is pawing the footrest
on the recliner.
I believe he wants
a biscuit.
Awe, he gave up
and finally lay down.
He is a good old dog.
He gets plenty of biscuits.
I brought home ribs
for supper,
So that is done and over.
I’m off duty.
This kinda feels like
my ‘me’ time
at 3 in the morning.
Except I’m drinking water
not coffee,
and it’s light out.
I got the house sounds
to keep me company.
The furnace and fridge
hum a duet.
Beside me snores the dog.
On the other side,
my philodendron reaches out
threatening to over take
me and my chair.
I find it all quite comforting.
Of course the cat
must disrupt this
silent revelry.
She paws at the loose molding
by the front door
making it snap loudly.
Thus, she summons me
to let her out.
She has me well trained,
that noise is annoying.
Back to my cozy
state of mind.
Too late…
Life has intervened.
Emergency mending job
for my daughter’s bra.
No sooner had I finished that,
when my husband arrives
and turns the TV back on.
Something tells me
I’ll be fixing oatmeal,
here in a bit.

Oh well, the upside is that there's a 3 am every day, Miss Lori. Pick any of them in any quantity you wish until you can't!

...and remember, "A stitch in time saves two!"

Bluesy,
Well the down side was only that it was such a predictable routine. Oh look! 2:56, here I go again. ~L

2:56? My clock says 3:45! You and I are going two different directions, though! You're on the upside and I'm on the downside! Ha-Ha-ha!

Nighty-night Sweet Princess...
