Holding Adored gently,
like a promise untold.
She lay in my arms
like perfumed tissue paper,
weightlessly.

My Adored, my life,
nothing but skin and bones.
Pictures of Auschwitz
survivors fill my head
looking down at her.

My Adored was free,
oh, is she free to die?
The man who first shoved
the needles into her arms
is a monster.

He died quickly by my hand.
Such a shame. Adored
has been dying for months.
Heroin is a grinning,
soul-stealing destroyer.

Great theme and emotion! It really has been devastating areas of the US. My neck of the woods they tell me is known for meth. Both are horrible and so addictive. Glad to see you posting. ~L

Thanks Lori, I'm sorta easing back into posting. Back in tha day I tried it on a couple of occasions. Wasn't for me. It was a downer, and my specialty was speed. Anyway, thank you for your generous comments.
