as far as the eye could see Desperado could see further he lay a-dying of thirst beside a sparkling lake man-made and poisoned by same not drinkable unthinkable Desperado, naked and gaunt wore his Colt six-shooter on bony hips strength for one more draw he fondled his weapon of choice felt it rising to the occasion he grinned a blistered, cracked lip grin closed his eyes, remembering hand moved from weapon of choice and wrapped fingers around the Colt to free it from its holster where would Desperado aim it ©January 11, 2017 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

I've read this fine piece of yours before Jerry, and the metaphors tucked neatly inside it gave me a familiar grin... It may be the "Desperado" in me. Great reading! ...just bein' Bluesy |

Ahhh . . . Many thanks, Bluesy. Yep, love a good metaphor myself. I so loved your comments. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |
