My throat dries and my heart melts
as your fingers take a drive I think I felt
love for the first time in history
the bee sting of mystery
like a cold rush of blood to the head
tingling body crawling back to bed
more than ready for the moment
more than ready for the moment
to astound me

My bones creak in tune with you
as true as Billie Holiday singing blue
love that'll last all of history
the crescendo of misery
I'm riding the coda till the dawn's light
thirsty for whenever you are in sight
more than ready for your beauty
more than ready for your beauty
to astound me

I see you and me
and all we can be
and all I ever want to be
is beside you

Sometimes I lie awake
and measure how long it will take
to get from the love I dream
to the love we make
still I lie awake
and I'm thinking
about the love we make
and the distance in between

Till then I am
more than ready for the moment
more than ready for the moment
more than ready for your beauty
can't wait to see your beauty
more than ready for you
to astound me
