Dreamin' of A Sweet Summer

Now Milo and Mika
loved to see each other
and they were both wishin' and hopin'
that this would be a summer of love
and it was happening like a sweet summer dream;
Mika was spending some time
with her girlfriend in Rossmorr
and Milo was staying with a few surfer friends
from Australia, Hawaii and California
in a converted water tower in Sunset Beach,
which was only a short drive for Milo
in the '53 Chevy he won from a friend
on a side bet they made at Los Alamitos Race Track,
luckily his horse won the race
or he would have lost a small number of gold coins
he had found on a Florida treasure dive;
the Chevy was in wonderful condition,
only 12,000 miles, original paint and upholstery,
it had been brought out of the garage on Sundays
to drive granny and her husband to church
and an occasional horse race,
but after her husband passed away in '73
a new friend drove her to church in his '57 Corvette
and so on that Sat. in a hot July
Milo pulled up in front of Martha Ann Drive
just 2 hours after Mika had texted him the words
"Do you like date with me?"  It didn't take him long
to text back, "Yes, I like."  So here he was,
and here she is coming out the front door,
looking just like the woman I love and adore,
"Look at that, Mika in a mini-skirt;
I truly love those skinny legs."
And now were out there having fun
in the warm California sun,
and before the sun sets in Seal Beach
we will be sharing one of those delicious
wet steak burritos, at Surf Taco,
my car is cruisin', my honey is smiling,
and my mouth is salivating.
