What am I gonna do when it is time to go back to work? How am I going to get through my day without a nap, or my dog, or my chair? Granted I’m ready. I’m bored to tears. I miss the old routine. I have to be ready to hit the deck running. There is so much to do. Every year I wonder how I’m going to pull it all together, somehow I always manage to. But that won’t keep me from worrying or last minute panics about everything going wrong. Too many details have got me in a spin. I’ll have to stop by a few days early, just to figure out what spot I’ll be parking in. And to see if they are done remodeling our room and the unpacking can begin. My mind isn’t getting any sharper, on that I can depend. I can hardly wait to make my dumb mistakes that always slow me down when I’m in a hurry. And you would think after fifteen years of school years beginning, that I would be used to this sort of thing. I’m afraid not. I’m a frayed knot. LGR©7/31/17 |

I am wishing you the best. Yanno, there is always a trade off in all things in life, but if your like me, it will feel so good to get in that routine again. For me, it's nice to have off, but I still yearn for the benefits of working. Hugs and well thought out write. |

LeeJ, Oh no doubt it will be good to get back in the swing of things again. I just could do without the back to school angst. ~L |

"I’m a frayed knot." Excellent choice of words. Lori, what happened shouldn't have happened, I apologize. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (07-31-2017 09:35 AM).] |

Beyond a doubt one of the best closings I've see in a long time! Those last two lines were GREAT! Great piece especially the end! j. |

Lori- You'll do great and get back in the swing of things soon enough. I enjoyed the poem. Good luck! |

Jerry- if your comment has anything to do with what just happened between us, I wouldn't dwell on it if I were you. All's good now. Cheers. |

Jimmy, Thank you so much! I kinda fell into the ending. I wrote, "I'm afraid not." then I remembered "I'm a frayed knot" (I think from a greeting card). Then I realized I was done. Funny how that works out some times. ~L |
