madness looks back at me in the mirror my soul blackened with insidious peccadillo the jungle beat of voodoo drums quicken my heart I blame on psychedelic whiplash everybody said would surely sprout through the cracks in the form of blasphemy screeching at modern art where paranoia paralyzes and incinerates therapeutic revelations and cast a great darkness in hopes of dousing the fire of malnourished rationalization my muse has deceived me allowing me to flounder in reflective smoldering fumes bloody scenes from yesteryear where mad craving rage squandered budding companionship with a façade of shallowness ©June 24, 2017 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

I had to look up "peccadillo" and "psychedelic" in order to better digest your poem. As for the poem, that's why it's so crucial to "know thyself." Otherwise we easily stumble in our relations with others, and later regret it. Profound, intriguing read. |

Nothing wrong with looking up words, I do it all the time, Cerulean. To "know thyself," is something that many of us refuse to tackle, but you are correct, it is imperative to do so, otherwise we flounder within our life's journey. I know the feeling. Sometimes I feel that people would have been better off without computers. We live in a much changed world compared to that of the 20th century. Regardless, '95-'99 was a very interesting time to own a computer due to things like AOL chatrooms and the dot-com bubble. If I may ask, what made you feel like you didn't want to own a computer?
