Both Sides Of My Chin Rain. You know - out there beyond the window, lightning and thunder in the dark of the night, showing me only my reflection in the window's pane, a mirror of the rivulets dripping from both sides of my chin. Rain. Damned if it does. Damned if it doesn't Somehow it always seems to win, and drowns me no matter how well I swim - and always . . . always drops from both sides of my chin. Rain. Unforgivable, persistent, every time . . . I think of you.

Kickass poetry, Jimmy. That rain-splattered windowpane. I have been there for sure. There is nothing quite like staring through the raindrops to make one feel like the loneliness person in the whole wide world. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

I have no idea whether there is another context behind this poem (because of the "I think of you" part), but to me the poem seemed to have a spirit of humor in it. As far as how rain can have a depressing effect. I enjoyed the read. |

I love the way everybody has a different view, or perspective of what something says - that's what makes writing fun. It never was about 'rain', my friend (from my perspective) it was always about the 'tears' Thanks for popping in and sharing... nice to see you again, too. j. I see that I was in error. Now I understand. It's a sad but well written poem. Thanks for sharing. |
