Walking Into Forever It seemed to me that she walked through the park everyday with her big yellow umbrella, rain or shine the umbrella would protect her from the sun or the rain; she seemed so graceful walking almost lighter than air, I could imagine her flying away with that umbrella like Mary Poppins sometimes I was close enough to see the expressions upon her face, most of the time a smile but at times a frown; and what was that?, an occasional tear' I later found out she would smile thinking of her thirty year marriage to the man she loved, together they had shared many a walk together, both were totally content in the marriage, until that day he had died in a tragic auto accident and so the frowns, they were few, yet at times they would mix within the pleasures and she would find herself in one of those moments giving into the pain as she missed the man she loved and she knew she always would, so a few tears, a few desperate moments and a brand new smile as radiant as a beam of light on a dark night, yes she would always remember that day when her lovely husband no longer came home, and the lonely nights without him close to her, she still sleeps alone, and today, as she walks, she feels like he is there with her, walking beside her, if not in his mortal body, in his spirit, still sharing his love with her. She remembers, the words her husband used to tell her, "If he left this world before her, he would meet her in forever." Her heart yearned for that day, hoping it was not too far away. Her hopes, and her dreams, to go to a place called forever. JamesLee 7/13/17 "For God so Loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, will not perish but have eternal life."...John 3:16 This is Forever. |

I'm not a believer, James, but understand how it might be. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

This is a lovely bittersweet love story. Makes a person grateful that their spouse is still alive. ~L |

Thank you JerryPat, Lori and Poet in Pink for the nice responses. I can't imagine a person not wanting to be with those they love Forever...and yet our Heavenly Father offers us Forever through His Son...that's written in John 3:16...and it says "whoever"...james |

Forever...this (for me) speaks more about her strength than anything else. Hmmm...It's a little sad, maybe because she just waits for the day she can be with her husband forever? Idk. I enjoyed this- it made me wonder and feel and that's what poetry is all about. Lovely. -Trina |
