My path wounds towards a garden its center a bewildering maze I look vainly for vestiges of myself but I feel the cold between my fingers I am a bird making strangled cries overhead. I can't remember when I lost myself my senses scrambled, distrusting my imagination even as I try to articulate this on paper, memories of nightmares still cling on, poking the fear of these, dragging them to light. My inner garden is a jumble of distorted images the scent of flowers fail to intoxicate me their colors patched wedges of wet sunlight I shiver beneath the air. My paper birds can't fly they fall maimed and wounded in my mind. @jjote 01/26/2017 |

Ah, dear jjote, I am of the opinion that we all, at one point in time, lose ourselves. God knows I've been there, done that. But if experience means anything, the fact that we understand that we have lost ourselves gives us the wherewithal to buck up, get our act together and climb out of that wreckage of despair. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

It would seem that all that is lost is still where it always was, in your beautiful garden filled with the aroma of flowers and the twittering of happy birds. They'll all come back into focus as you quiet your mind and find peace. ...just bein' Bluesy |

poking the fear of these, dragging them to light ~ my fave I read a couple of your poems and feel a connection with your spirit. The best thing about gardens? The renewal in spring. Work like money doesn't matter, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching... |
