Remembrance ‘Remember you being so strong. ‘Wasn’t there when it all went wrong. I lift my eyes to see you now, ‘Tis all my conscience will allow. My hands seem frozen at my side, Exposed, there’s just nowhere to hide. No miracle to serve this want, Fade to shadow, ever in haunt. I die daily to live our dream, Dreams rarely being all they seem. ‘Seem to recall a distant voice That told me dreaming was *our choice. Yet ‘see your eyes, and see the shame, But baby you are not to blame. With heart so pure, with love so bold, The story never could be told. You carried me, you helped me stand, And never once withheld your hand. It’s my turn to carry you now, If circumstance would just allow. And so I reach from deep within This will I know to be my sin, To gift you strength you gifted me, To set your captive spirit free. In purest form, the form of touch, A need never needed so much. Eyes in longing, and soul in yearn, To simply live and not just burn. In time, Time will wash all away To a soft glimpse of yesterday. While living that “remember when,” Forget to touch ever again. Very touching. It is a hard phase of life to go through. I don't know which is worse, losing a parent suddenly or painfully slow. ~L |

I'm not sure to whom this memory of someone you loved is written, but I'm sure she will be well pleased |

As bittersweet as your poem is, it is a lovely way to be remembered. Peace Michael. |
