Love Lost on Yesterday’s Tide By Paul Wilson Pieces of my heart scattered Like grains of sand blown all around Every step I take another piece lost Never again to be found Shadow of you drags me back To the place we first met Tide washes away pieces of my heart Walking on the beach at sunset Golden orb sinking slowly Into the great abyss Taking with it hopes and dreams I will forever miss Will tomorrow bring us together once again? Will our destiny be written on yesterday’s tide? Scattered forever never to be found Broken pieces of my heart cast aside When will this nightmare end? When will my soul be free? Yesterday is calling me back Back to the sea Many a love story written and lost Upon the moon and sea Will they claim another? Will this be the end of you and me? Love is wonderful thing, Paul. To love truly is to love unconditionally they say. There is a truth to that though that not many recognize, though..that if it's truly the case, that love in you exists whether or not it is returned. That it's ok to love someone, as they are, yet not posses them within your life. A need for their happiness existing with you, whether it involves that happiness being centered on you or not. I have some feelings similar to yours that you've penned here. Though if I've let go of something, (someone), I place no further wonder on what the future holds for *us. Time and circumstance always move forward. If there is another metting, one must realize they characters may be different altogether lest they set themselves up for disappointment. Great yearnful reading though. Brought images to mind. Michael |

MIchael...Thanks so much for reading and your reply. I wrote this on a whim, nothing personal going on. When I first started writing I would put myself in someone else's place and try to write how they felt or thought, sort of a stranger looking in from the outside. Looking back on some of those poems I realize that some of them involved me more that I knew or thought they did in a weird sort of way. Thanks again...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |
