Walking Between Gravestones

I know the feeling
of walking between gravestones,
the loss there,
the immensity,
of the worst my soul can bear.
I've layed on the ground,
stretched out on the middle
of the pain beneath my soul.
And I've cried more tears
then life should allow.
My heart has bled through,
soaked into the ground,
leaked into the wood, plastic and metal
of her surround,
and pulled even more,
water from my eyes.
I know the feeling
of walking between gravestones,
the loss there,
the immensity,
of the worst my soul can bear.

Oh God,
how can you be, so callous.

Wow! The pain in this one reaches in and pulls the heart inside out. Tjis found me choking back tears!! A very powerful write. I just wish it didn't come from a place of experience for you.

Paul, I know better than to hope 'all will be well' - I'd be lying to myself.  Instead I wish to be the best person I can in all things, and to be sure my wife (especially) knows where my heart lies.

Thanks for reading, commenting.

Starmcneil - " . . . I know for myself we will all be together again."

Yeah - I'm a believer in "life after" and dare say I've seen my share, and come from a family that's seen more than reality in my/our lives,
of 'explainable' events.  And our beliefs run close to yours.

thanks for coming and sharing,

j.

It's an odd thing I know, but I am very comfortable in such places.  Death is somewhere we all are going, I feel no loss with loved ones having gone there before me.  Think I prolly cried myself out years ago though, not sure how much I could grieve these days, even if I wanted to.
