Apathy Inspired by effijel on PIP Nothing can hide us from a world gone mad so filled with violence and destruction Seeing death inflected makes all feel sad while hot anger festers in tender hearts Are there ways to protect the innocent in lands where law and order is needful Where the Lord has blessed with magnificent so much that all have the right to freedom When will we understand that to love all embrace all no matter color of skin Still each day we witness scenes that appall as violence and destruction fills with fear Apathy has reigned as supreme leader but God has taught us to be much better We are to Love One Another as He gave example for all mankind to see He did not say according to color or to forgive only those we want to We are to forgive all as He forgives love all mankind is His lesson to us We are to leave judgement to Him alone for only He knows secret hearts within It was for all that His death did atone and I for one am grateful He did Karen McNeil 2020 |

I absolutely love it when the vision of a poem opens a vision in my mind...reading the work of others soothes the soul and feeds the vision...thank you for responding |

Apathy has been an ever growing disease. Innocence cannot be protected forever, but the reaction to loss of innocence is important. Thanks for a read that makes me think. Enjoyed this very much. "How much is real? So much to question |

A note on unforgiveness…it is the nastiest, self-poisoning thing a person can bring upon themselves. It hurts no-one but the person harboring it.. While they are bitterly festering, whomever it is they are bearing this grudge against is free to move on with their lives and leave the past in the past, and I guarantee you most of them have. So why poison yourself and your life holding onto that resentment? As you said, Karen…We are to leave the judgment to Him alone, and we are to forgive one another their trespasses against us as He forgives us ours against Him. I, too, am grateful. Michael |
