Shall we look for eagles bearing news of us in a thousand years to come, floating down a thousand skies to us again? Shall we marvel at such augury, craving truths, forgoing time, foraging for lost rhythms amongst the ruins, avoiding entropy, forgetting at one hand, cause, another, to pretend? And so create this game again? How many times? And yet soaring, scatter shadows against the greens and blues, the depths of grey, forgetting lifetimes like sun-dogs off an eagle's back? Then, in a thousand million years or so floating down another thousand million skies, shall we, marveling at our foresightedness, ask wisely, rhetorically 'Who knew' and know and laugh? |

It's hopeful to think future generations might someday look back on us with a broader perspective than that which we look out with now. Maybe a more humane one, a less wasteful or less arrogant one. I myself wonder if it will only be wreckage they have left to look at? That is all we deserve after-all. Love your ending. Maybe someday they will "know." Michael |

Deep, dense, urgent and questioning. Most of all very well written. |
