Fair to middlin' of nowhere

There is no place like home.
Perhaps it is a place of quiet
where you can hear
the clocks ticking on the walls.
Or it could be a place of pandemonium
with rooms full of ruckus.
Even still a place of technology,
voice activated, headphones,
fit bitted gamer’s haven.
It can be a place you love or hate,
or just don’t care anymore.
Maybe you feel cramped and crowded.
Perhaps you make echos from your couch.
Our shelters may all be different,
but they keep us in from the same storm.
There is a storm of death raging right outside.
There is also a storm of stress raging inside.
Not a wonder some are willing to take their chances
back out in the world where their old lives were
I suppose most everyone wants their old lives back,
especially when the walls start closing in.
Home feels like prison when we are ready and able to work
and broke but jobs are shut down.
Then home turns to hell when we can’t go
and hold a hand as we say our last goodbyes.

...storm of death..."

Yes! I love the whole thing, but this struck me the most. As I said on someone else's post, I have not been able to put any of this into words. I'm thankful for those of you who can so I can at least let the feeling breathe with an agreement to what I read.

Temptress,
I'm happy my words had a cathartic effect for you. That is really quite a compliment. I thank you.~L
